Thinking about winter and un-made Christmas cards... Maybe I should just accept the fact that I'll never be organized enough to mail cards and hope... Birds around here don't need caps and scarfs, but I thought it would be fun to paint them like that anyway.

These would have made great christmas cards, you should totally send out a few cards to your favourite people. Those birds are pretty darn cute.
ReplyDeleteI don't have to pretend. it was a minus 8 this morning. I am sure you have heard on TV about the weather in the midwest.
ReplyDeleteCards are about all I can do this year, so I have had some fun making different ones, printing some off and mounting them with the little brads on other papers.
The letter writing is a bit more difficult, as most that I send cannot say the same thing like those Christmas letters, it has to be to the person, not to the crowd.
I like your birds, you hae a great wealth of bird ideas in your artist's mind, great shapes, different positions, paint swirled just right with the shape of the bird. I have to do another bird page and I need to get some photos to look at the direction I should paint to give the bird some beauty.
I have this old tape in my head from grae school, and the bird always has a sway back unless i put effort into not doing that.
I have a drawing my daughter did in grade school with black paint on newspaper and she did a bird the same. So cute and so nice that in the 70s the art teacher was having kids do art on newspaper.
