Brown-blue

As much as I love color, sometimes I think it's fun to challenge myself with a very limited palette. Today I wanted to see if I can paint a face with only blue and brown (+white). What do you think? Does she need brighter colors in her life?

  6. WOW....She is so beautiful, mysterious, and interesting!!! Her eyes are vibrant and lively.I think you nailed it with just a few colors!! Very inspirational. Last time I did that, my daughter hated it, so I covered it up! I'll try again now!!!

Hugs Giggles Leave her be...she's perfect and that's coming from a color freak!!

  9. It is very hard to do, hard to not just put one more color on the brush, and I have tried several times to do the limit of color and I cheat, all the time I cheat and get another color.

I like her very much, I have an angel in one of the bathrooms that has these tones, she is small but the minute I saw your work I thought of her. She is there always to talk to on difficult days and there have been some lately. You are inspiration and I may try this. Your face has sincere drama, a person that has learned somethings because of what came her way. Maybe it is the colors you chose that say that maybe just me. I also like the brush strokes of alive color and just take a long look and see the various hues. That can especially be appreciated when the comment box comes up and I can only see part of the painting.

  10. She's wonderful, I like challenging myself with restricting colours too but I find I always end up adding either a stark bright red or a pale rosy pink in there too, I am a cheater lol ;)

  12. I think it's beautiful but you know me, I'm a colour junkie and if it was mine, I'd have been tempted to add another shade! ;) I need to be more restrained, I really do! xx

  13. Hi Zorana! I am so glad I found your blog! This painting is amazing! I love it! I think you did a great job with the limited palette! I like to draw/paint faces and would love to try these types of colors but I always get caught up in what colors I think a face should be like.

This is so expressive and shows alot of emotion.

I look forward to following your work!

    :)
