Love your inner bunny

Do you ever feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders? That everyone you know is telling you their worries and sad stories because they know you will understand? And sometimes it overflows, it simply becomes too much...
I recently woke up in a daze, shaking and whispering nonsense... completely traumatizing my poor husband.  It took me a while to understand what is happening, and I finally managed to tell him. I was already in my safe spot when I could whisper in his ear that I feel like a white bunny, scared out of it's mind, shivering but unable to move or do anything.  Surrounded by warmth, love and understanding soon I felt better, but the echo of the feeling remained.
Later in the day, as I was driving, I had a strong picture in my head... I knew exactly what I want to do and couldn't wait to start. As soon as I came home, I opened a package of paper clay, found a square piece of wood and let it flow out. I am so happy with the result! It shows exactly what I was feeling, and the love that somehow always cures everything. I love my bunny!
Interesting thing is that as soon as I woke and saw the image of the bunny in my mind, I immediately decided to treat myself. Not to judge whether I should be stronger, or process things differently... I just thought of a scared animal and with how much kindness and gentleness we approach it, and decided that it is the same way we should treat ourselves. So I did. And maybe some of you are stressed out and overwhelmed and need to do the same thing, so that's why I'm sharing. Love your inner bunny, be gentle and caring and soon it will be better.
By the way, I did everything on this painting except paint the eye. I knew that it is a very important part of what I wanted to express and wasn't sure how to go about it. Lucky for me, my daughter is fearless and talented. I simply said what I wanted, and she painted it exactly the way I could only imagine (thank you Hana).
Happy June!

Story

Every painting has a story. What is the story of this painting - I really don't know. I finally had some time for myself, so I opened my big journal and started painting and this showed up. How weird!
Whatever it is, it is out of my system now and on a page....

Sad

Yesterday a squirrel committed suicide and I can't shake off the sad feeling. She didn't run in front of my car. I would have slammed the brakes and stopped for her. She ran from behind and in between my front and back wheels and just hit herself on the wheel... There was nothing I could have done to prevent it. And as much as I am aware that it happens every day and that it's minor compared to many other horrible things, I still feel miserable... therefore the sad face painting.

Day 5

It's only day five and I almost didn't make it... but it wouldn't be a challenge if I gave up so quickly, so I made myself pick up some colored pencils and scribble something quickly. As always - even scribbling lifts my mood and makes the day better. Where did that rabbit-creature come from and why, I don't know... but I allowed him to stay :-)

Visitor

I knew you couldn't guess it... it's such a random animal that I would have really been surprised if anyone thought of it. Thank you for trying! It was fun to read your comments.
Remember the cartoon with the black cat and a skunk in love?
Look what our camera captured in the backyard.
The black cat is our neighbors.... I thought that it was funny that she is black and seemed to know that we have a 'visitor'. The darling skunk has left our backyard and we closed the way it came in. I think that it is completely adorable and wouldn't mind holding one just like the girl in THIS movie.
It is not allowed to have skunks as pets in California (not that I would really want one, but I was intrigued by the thought), but it's very much allowed to quickly paint them in the journal.
Happy weekend!

Early spring

I skyped with my parents this morning and they showed me the scenery around there home. Deep, fluffy, white snow and only 10°F. Really cold... Then I stepped in front of our home to show them what is surrounding us. Spring came extra early this year.
I played in my small journal, quickly trying to capture the purple, orange, yellow and green tones.
