Set yourself free

I am so glad that this week is over. It was not the best one. I found out that the company my husband works for is closing so everyone is loosing their jobs; I finally admitted that I am not happy at my work and have to change something; I had a very tiring visit to the dentist, another one to the orthodontist (for Hana) and some other not so pleasant things happened. And yes - my treadmill arrived and is wonderful! I used it 6 out of 7 days and stepped on a scale today... only to find out that I have gained a pound. Talk about disappointment!
Anyway, I have been counting my blessings daily. It is easy to fall into the negativity and I am aware that nothing good comes from it. I'm lucky to have a bbff that patiently listens when I pout and scream and talk nonsense. And a husband that's my super hero and that will become "An officer and a gentleman" and get me out of my workplace one day (he won't be able to carry me if the stupid scale doesn't start going downwards).
I needed to paint something positive, so this canvas is filled with affirmations and just the look at the blue bird getting ready to fly makes me feel better. I'll be flying in my studio this weekend. Hope we'll all have a good one. xo

  3. I'm sorry to hear about your week. I hope your husband is able to find a new job quickly and things get better for you at yours.

I always gain weight when I first start working out. I think it's because I build muscle. Try measuring yourself in addition to weighing. It's not as frustrating when the scale goes up but the inches are going down.

Your painting is beautiful! It brightened my morning. I hope painting it made you feel a little better.

  4. I love your painting! Such warm rich color and that yummy texture! Congrats on your treadmill work 6 out of 7 days. Yes, I agree with Jennifer:
I've always heard that muscle weighs more but takes up less space. Keep going! You will get there.

  5. I'm sorry to hear about your disappointing week, Zorana. Must be something in the air... It's happening at my end of the world as well. I found that working in my art journal was all that could save me last week...I was serious thinking about running away (with my art supplies), off to live in a magical forest somewhere (Where no one could find me)! Get some art in this weekend, my friend! Besides, we thrive on seeing your beautiful creations! Better Days ahead~ Missy

  6. Affirmations:
    You are my friend.
    I celebrate knowing you.
You gave me courage to fly.
    We will always be friends.

Walking makes muscle which weighs more that fat. It is true.

  7. Lovely as always...you are one of my favorite artists.
We have had bluebirds at out feeder these past few weeks...I have photos of them on my current post.

I am sorry to hear about your husbands job loss...hope things will look up for you.
About not shedding the pounds yet...my excuse is always that muscle weighs more than fat...and you are making muscle on the tread mill :) ;)
I like your philosophy about counting your blessings.

  8. Zorana,

The painting is lovely, I love that you put all the affirmations in there. The weight will come off just have some patience with yourself. It will come. When I hear about your week I think oh what have I been complaining about my life is fine. Its all perspective I guess.

  12. Am so sorry I haven't caught up with what has been happening in your life lately sweetie.

And very sorry to hear that your husband will be losing his job soon. I know you haven't been very happy at your job for a while now too. Sounds like lots of changes are coming.

Going to the dentist is never fun and I hope you don't have to go there again in a hurry.

Meanwhile you continue to create wonderful art. This painting is beautiful. I am pleased you are continuing to create as I know it brings you much joy (and joy to the people who get to see it).

    Thinking of you.

    Dot xx
