I have painted many, many birds over the years, but I don't think I ever painted a pink bird... or thought of doing it. The inspiration for the pink bird came from a far-away place, all the way from Dubai.
WE have a little bird that comes in late Feb. they come from the farther regions of the north if the snow gets too deep for too long. They are Red Polls, they seem to ocme from a different dye lot as the colors differ, sometimes quite red on head and breast and sometimes rather pink, it does not always have to do with male or female. Anyway pink is a good color for a bird to flaunt.
I happened to have a lavender bird, as I painted washes of gesso and paint on a page of music. Then drew some birds. Your birds have such personality. No cheep jokes from them ever.
