Not afraid

When you purchase bed sheets do you throw away the piece(s) of cardboard that were in the packaging?
I didn't think so. Neither could I. I had to paint on them...
I mean, how could I resist to let such lovely already-there texture slip out.
I need white ink... I wish I used white instead of red. I actually had white ink, but haven't used it in a while and was surprised when I opened the bottle - completely dried out! I didn't know this can happen... Maybe I didn't close the bottle well. Did it ever happen to you?
 Happy Friday!

  1. I do that all the time and continue to paint on cardboard but I am accumulating too much and now I don't know what to do with all these pieces. Tee hee. Great painting. Take care.

  2. This is a great painting. I never even think of painting on cardboard but I will now. I'm from the "waste not want not" generation and unfortunately this creates quite a problem in my studio..I see more coming with this idea...

  4. This post reminded me of how children often love the box more than the item in the box. that happened to me the other day, a box came and I could hardly wait to cut it up for painting. Carboard is a great surface and your so right about the texture, plus it makes me think of the ruins of a plaster wall, and how a painting is left but the wall has started to crumble.

Of course your painting is rich with texture and beauty.

  7. I seldom throw away any cardboard. I have quite a stash! And I've had several bottles of colored inks dry up. I hate when it happens but some of them didn't get used very often.

I love your painting on the cardboard. The texture just adds to the yumminess of your art.
