Class assignment

Here is another finished class assignment from "Faces in Technicolor" class. Most of the time I like cropped parts of my paintings more than the whole painting... Are you like that too? Don't you think that the square pieces of my painting look better than the original, full face one? I think the last one is my favorite.

  1. I like the full painting best. I do like the crops tho and think cropping is a useful tool for making you focus on a particular area, or texture, or whatever. Ummm, maybe I'm not explaining it right.

  3. Oh, I really want to take that class, but must finish another first. So many classes to choose from. I do like the parts of paintings--makes you curious and want to see more. I always like it when you post bits on your blog leading up to the full painting!

  4. The full painting is beautiful....and it's also fun to see the cropped areas. It's nice for getting a closer look at small sections.

  5. The last cropped one is my favorite. It feels a little more mysterious. I haven't taken a class with sharon yet but I would like too. I love the color and layer in this painting. I have always loved your work:)

  6. She's a breath-taking classic...considering a serious life choice...I'm associating a Victorian air...such pensiveness, such promise...

Great story, Z. I enjoyed reading.
