Chaos

"I have a belief in the fact
that whenever there is chaos,
it creates wonderful thinking.
I consider chaos a gift."
That is not my quote and I don't share the same belief. It just seemed like a positive way of looking at an overwhelming chaos in my home. Does it happen to you? A day when your surroundings are not messy, but you can't find anything and wherever you peek things are not where they are supposed to be. I couldn't find postal stamps (in the drawer where I keep them), hemp seeds for the salad dressing I wanted to make (I mean - where could you put the seeds if not in the kitchen?), my favorite necklace.... I couldn't even come near my art table...
I didn't know where to start, so I chose to do nothing. I opened my journal and glued random pieces of paper all over it. Then I outlined the shapes I saw with white pen. That didn't work well, so I chose some red color to paint around them. That looked horrible. I picked green to go over it, but quickly saw that it's making it worse. Layer of gesso went over the mess..... then orange crayon, purple acrylic, more collage elements and who knows what else. I had to smile when I saw the words that were showing after I glued a piece of scrap paper. How inappropriate - she didn't 'have' miracles, but the process of creating brought her happiness so it was a kind of a miracle. I'm happy to say that I made a good choice when I decided to play and not tidy my drawers and cabinets. It relaxed me and I did a huge cleaning job after I finished playing in my journal. I still can't find the stamps.... and I know that I have them. Maybe tomorrow...

  2. oh what a neat thing to find, "she had miracles" I just love when that happens. I always think it is Norah'S way of reminding me of things. I do believe AnaroZ was doing that for you. And I bet you have still been thinking about it. And thank you so much for showing this in progress. I really enjoyed seeing how you do your beautiful journal pages. I want to learn this from you.

  4. Dear Zorana ~ I come to find your post and journal pages today at *just* the right time (I love it when that happens, as I'm certain we all do). Reading and seeing the steps you took as these *tapestry of creativity* journal pages came to be was *JUST* what I needed today. The reminder that if we are willing to keep going, even when we aren't sure of the direction, and we don't think we are FINDING what we are SEEKING -- we discover other things along the way appearing. THANK YOU, for sharing your thoughts, and always, always your awesome art. ~~ Laurie

  6. Great post and very timely! I had to smile when I first read the quote as when my house is in chaos-it really seems like NO gift to me! lol But yes, sometimes you must turn a shoulder to the chaos and just sit and create, and let go. Glad you did! (: Happy Wednesday Z!
