Beautiful Dreamers

Oh dear... I have been looking at these birds the whole day and just now noticed that the second bird has one leg... How could I miss that? Probably because I was so excited when I found just perfect words in my little antique book for the branch... I don't think that I can add the leg now because I used a glass-like finish on that part of the collage (the bird has a completely different feel). Can it be a one-legged bird?
They are resting their little wings on etsy: here and here.

  2. These are gorgeous Zorana. I agree with Sharon , the 2nd bird might have his little leg hiding behind the other one.

    Your art is very special!!

  4. I absolutely LOVE these!! And yes, I think the one leg is A Ok. Perhaps he is a wounded bird?
Or maybe he's a bit of a contortionist and is hiding the other one! lol

  5. One-legged bird or not, these are beautiful lush collages! The one-legged part reminds of the lovely story about the little tin soldier with only one leg:

Once in a town in the black forest
A little white toy shop stood
And a little tin soldier with only one leg
Lived in a castle of wood
And across the room on another shelf
    Stood a little glass shelf
And a tiny ballerina lived in there
All in a dress of lace
And from where the little tin soldier stood
They could see each other so clear
And the little tin soldier watched over her
With a love that was so dear
    Then one day sadness came
    The tiny ballerina was sold
The little tin soldier was thrown away
And into the gutter he rolled
The water carried him to the sea
    And many far-off lands
    He made many children happy
As he passed through their tiny hands
But then one day they met again
In a house in the land of Eire
When the clock on the wall struck the midnight hour
    They jumped into a fire
And in this fire oh they will stay
    Forever and a day
For the fire, Lord, is the fire of love
    Just like the peaceful dove

  8. Love little birdies. I think he is just holding one leg up tucked into his body resting it. I've seen birds sleep this way...have had finches and canaries for pets. :))
    Really sweet collage!
