Beautiful morning...

Oh what a beautiful morning,
Oh what a beautiful day,
I've got a wonderful feeling,
Everything's going my way.
My Mom used to sing this song every morning. That was her cheerful way of waking me and my sister up for school. I remember putting the pillow over my head, trying to block it out...completely disliking the song and not thinking kind thoughts about my Mom. Of course, as things go, you get older and start to appreciate many things, even the ones that annoyed you when you were a teenager. This song is in my head many mornings, sometimes I even hum it silently... and I think it sets up the mood for the day.

Unfinished...

This is a completely unfinished journal page. Actually, it is only the first layer. I was still inspired by the rose and wanted to paint roses instead of hair (btw - they are unfinished too). Who knows how it will turn out when I decide to continue. I know that it will not be this bright, and I'm not sure if the roses will stay or disappear... I thought it might be interesting to share (and I have nothing else to show). Why are weekends so short? Why do I expect to do so many things and never seem to finish anything? I finally gave up the hope that I'll be able to organize my life to have more time for fun stuff. It's simply not the same since I've been working. Days fly by... it seems that I blink and it's a new month. I am constantly tired and I just can't do all the things that I'd want to. Like - write emails, thank individually for every comment that I receive (because they all mean so much and I'd love to be able to do that), send little somethings to the people I care, play art more, exercise... There has to be a formula somewhere... maybe I need more time to figure things out. We all have the same amount of hours every day. Maybe I should complain less and start working more.
Guess who was the lucky recipient of Sharon's fabulous art mail? Undeserving Lucky ME! I am madly in love with the little clever window with real flowers and doll and music. Isn't it amazing?
WOW! This has been the whiniest post ever... Sorry.

Sweet smelling rose

I am lucky to work with really good people. Today a colleague thought that I look too serious and brought me a rose from his garden to cheer me up. It worked! Imagine the sweetest smelling rose in pink/orange hues in a room with a bunch of computers and no windows... I couldn't help myself... I picked a piece of paper and pencil and sneaked a few minutes sketching it. So there it is.... a piece of desk art as Sharon calls it.

Cats in hats

I felt like painting cats in hats and because this is my journal I can do whatever I want... What a wonderful feeling! Painting silly cats, using crazy color combinations... Can't wait to play again. xo

In awe

He to whom the emotion is a stranger,
who can no longer pause and stand wrapped in awe,
is as good as dead; his eyes are closed.
~Albert Einstein
I was in awe when I saw Norah's latest posts. I couldn't resist stealing one of her photos and placing it in my journal. Look at the beautiful, fragile little bird! How I wish that I could hold it! As an added bonus I have the wingkeeper's hand in my journal (which makes me happy).

Peace

Peace is not a thing, it is a way.
I may add some things to this page.... or not. I started with no idea in my head. Added textures, layered color over color over color, grabbed some papers and transparencies that were on my desk... just relaxed while moving my hands. Oh, the fun of creating with no expectation! I don't feel like going to work tomorrow.... Sunday evenings are always tough... but I'll try to change my mindset. Have a happy week!
