My brushes

At some point not cleaning the studio becomes harder than cleaning it... that's where I am.
I started by taking a good look at my brushes.
A really good look... I almost wanted to count them, but stopped myself. Instead, I gave them a place in one of my journals.
After that - I organized them. Some brushes went to the place of no return... The following photo is before organizing. The "after" doesn't look much different.
What can I say - I love my brushes, new ones, old ones, crisp, ragged, big, small... I think I need them all. How about you?

  1. How funny...I just organized my brushes over the weekend! I don't think I have quite as many as you though. And you do such beautiful work with yours.

  5. Right there with you, kid...I can always use a brush, even with no bristles, to scratch into paint, use it as a mall(sp?), straight-edge, or stir something!
And there is the knowledge that it has served me do dutifully through all my abuse that bids me keep it. Sigh...

  6. Yes, it would be hard to get rid of any of my brushes, although I have just about 3-4 favorites that I use all the time.

  7. I find it soooo difficult to throw brushes away! They have to literally fall apart before they go in the bin. :) I even keep the ones where the bristles ahve gone hard. 'just in case' I need to incise a line through wet paint. Of course when I do actually need to do this, can I find it? No! So I use the other end!
